Integration of the Electronic Signature in Web Applications

Qualified electronic signatures can also be conveniently listed using all current signature cards (DACH) and card readers with web applications and online forms.

With Sign Live! WebStage Signer, web applications that operate centrally to make forms or documents available to a larger circle of users can be easily expanded with signature functions.

As current browsers do not support signatures via smartcard, a signature applet is available in Java, which is loaded from the relevant website onto the user's computer. Users just need a signature card (or multiple signature card) and a card reader. The signature applet communicates via defined interfaces with the card reader and it can carry out all important functions relating to the smartcard, such as:

  • Advanced and qualified electronic signature
  • Encrypting or decrypting files/documents
  • Authentication of users
  • PIN changes and lifting of PIN blocks using SuperPIN (PUK)
  • etc.

The signature applet supports traditional card reading devices and also USB tokens with smartcard technology. PDF-internal, PKCS#7 and XML DSig can be used as signature formats.

Sign Live! WebStage Signer can be integrated as an applet in websites then used directly in the browser. The only requirement is that Java is installed on the user's computer. For software producers who want to expand their products with signature components, simple standard interfaces are available for integration.
