CABAReT Stage is powerful software – it is able to perform all tasks related to the PDF file format. All software products based on CABAReT® Stage can be adapted easily to individual requirements and can be integrated into business processes using standard interfaces. The software is based on modern JAVA technology and methods and offers a high degree of independence from hardware and operating systems. As well as its application as a desktop tool, the complete range of functions of CABAReT Stage is also available in batch operation (command line) and server operation, for example.

Licences
The range of functions of the application depends on the licence that is installed:

| Basic | For advanced users, who often work on PDF documents and want to insert a few notes and comments, highlight sections of text and underline or cross out text. Import and export functions are also available for various graphic and text formats. |
| Professional | For companies, public authorities and financial service providers, who require a simple interchange of interactive, intelligent PDF documents and data with external users, customers and partners for process optimisation. |
